Yasunari Rowan
Yasunari Rowan is a New York-based director, producer, and cinematographer with more than two decades of experience creating films and visual content across commercial, documentary, music, and branded work.
His work has been recognized by the Recording Academy, The New York Times, Variety, and numerous entertainment industry awards. He has collaborated with artists on Grammy Award-winning albums and created content for HBO, Court TV, and MTV.
Beyond entertainment and commercial work, Yasunari has brought his filmmaking to organizations including UNICEF, Horns to Havana, and the DEFA Film Library, with a longstanding interest in stories that explore culture, community, and social impact.
Working across every stage of production, from concept and directing through cinematography and post-production, Yasunari brings a filmmaker’s eye and a collaborative approach to every project, creating work that feels cinematic, human, and authentic.
